Abstract: | Introduction: Not much studied in elastography (SWE) in patients with benign prostate hypertrophy (BPH). The purpose of this research was to evaluate the use of SWE in determining the severity of BPH and its related with the international prostate symptom score (IPSS). Methodology: This cross-sectional study was conducted at at R.L. Jalappa Hospital and Research Center attached to SDUMC, Kolar shear wave elastography in determination of sev correlation with international prostate symptom score. For this, adult patients of bladder outflow obstruction were included in the study individuals with normal prostate glan Results: Mean SWE values for patients with mild, moderate and severe IPSS scores was 25.8, 35, and 40 kPa respectively, with a significant difference between them. And we observed that SWE values correlated significantly with IP and prostate volume (r = 0.82, p value < 0.001). It was observed that mean SWE for BPH patients was 37.1 ± 5.02, which was significantly higher as compared to non (25.8 ± 3.37), p value < 0.01. Based on ROC of 94.2%, 98.10% respectively for predicting BPH Conclusion: Prostate elastography imaging using transabdominal ultrasound (US) is a non invasive method that allows for a more objective evaluation of prostat Keywords: benign prostate hypertrophy; elastography; bladder outlet obstruction; ultrasound xxii ABSTRACT India have evaluated the usefulness of shear wave rostate Department of Radio to assess the role of severity of benign prostate hyperplasia and study. In addition, age matched gland were chosen as controls. IPSS score (r = 0.84, p value < 0.001) analysis, SWE had a sensitivity and specificity prostate stiffness. Radio-Diagnosis erity with symptoms SS non-BPH subjects none |
